Time is Short

James 4:13-15

What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14)

I CATCH MYSELF SAYING, "I'm too busy" or "I don't have the time." Then I realize, more time is not the answer; I just need to make better use of the time I am given. My priorities shift as my attention shifts to how God wants me to use my time. Our days are numbered; God is numberless. God always was, is, and will be. He is the only everlasting element in this world. In comparison, a human life is a minute speck on God's timeline. The Creator of time has the whole span of time to accomplish His purpose. And He chooses us to fulfill that purpose for His glory. Believers are called to participate in a mission beyond anything we could ever fathom. What an honor to be allowed even a few fleeting moments. We yearn for longevity and a leading role; instead, we vanish quickly from the scene. In order to make the most impact for God, we must not delay. There is no time for procrastination. We have praising, worshiping, praying, and sharing the gospel to do! Our time is limited, but we do not need to limit the time we spend increasing God's kingdom. The opportunity to voice and model the love of Christ will disappear soon enough. Treasure the privilege God has granted and willingly assist in fulfilling His purpose.
