The Department of Education and the Ministry is interviewing for the position of part-time FLAMA Director. This individual serves as the liaison between our Wesleyan Church Districts, DBMDs, pastors, ministerial students and the FLAMA (Spanish language) ministerial preparation program of Education and the Ministry. As such he/she is accountable to the Director of Ministerial Preparation and the General Director of Education and the Ministry. The anticipated time commitment of this position is 15 hours per week; the salary is negotiable depending on the qualifications of the individual. This position would not necessitate relocating to the Wesleyan Church Headquarters in Indianapolis.

The responsibilities of this position include:
1. Approve all professors for FLAMA classes
2. Approve syllabus for all FLAMA classes
3. Approve class offerings for each FLAMA site
4. Coordinate with Hispanic leaders on both creation and deletion of FLAMA event sites
5. Research future vehicles of educational delivery systems for ministerial preparation in Spanish (ie: degree completion, correspondence courses, etc)
6. Verify compliance of FLAMA sites/district institutes with stated FLAMA standards
7. Help in the development of Spanish language ministerial preparation web pages on the Ed and Ministry site
8. Work with district officials in relation to Hispanic ministerial preparation issues
9. Resource district officials on DBMD interviews for Spanish speaking individuals.
10. Aid in the selecting and supplying of textbooks for FLAMA classes with the Wesleyan Publishing House
11. To complete any other duties that may be assigned as a part of this ministry


Qualifications
1. Bilingual - Spanish and English
2. Capable of relating well with District Superintendents and other leaders.
3. Enjoys working and communicating in an electronic environment (computers, e-mail, phone)
4. Willing to travel occasionally for training events
5. Ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church
6. Minimum of an undergraduate degree; Graduate degree preferred
7. Experience providing/facilitating ministerial preparation in Spanish a great advantage
