Transformation City Church is a new Wesleyan church in Milwaukee. We are dedicated to creating an authentic and deeply connected community. A church that values the image of God in all people and who believes that the church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves. Our mission is to live out the way of Jesus within a community that brings hope, healing, restoration, and salvation to all people.
We are currently looking for a bi-vocational youth pastor to join the staff of TCC. Milwaukee is ranked as the 8th poorest city in the U.S. Its levels of poverty and unemployment rank among the highest in the country. We are looking for a person who is dedicated to reaching and ministering to teens in the city. A person who is willing to work in an urban environment among both African-American and white teens. A person who is willing to break open their lives and pour themselves out for the benefit of hurting and lonely teenagers in Milwaukee.
As there is currently no youth program within our church — this person would be working to create a program from the ground up. Transformation City Church has no offices, no facility, and no teens. As we are a church plant — this position is to plant a new youth ministry and we expect it to be a difficult task. But there is amazing potential here. Thousands and thousands of teens are desperately longing for someone to care for them — to reach out to them — to listen. And as a church — we are dedicated to seeing this ministry come to life. The person that would fit into this situation would need to be extremely missional and one who is willing to think outside of "normal."
Visit the Web site (under "contact/employment") for a more detailed description of this position.
The church is located in a bedroom community north of Atlanta Georgia. The church is an eight-year-old church plant. We have a new building sitting in the prime location of a bedroom community, 35 miles north of Atlanta Georgia. The church has a small but solid group of lay leaders who are eager to follow a God called and directed leader.
The leader should have the spiritual gifting of leadership. The ability to build an effective ministry team approach. Someone who can creatively and effectively share the gospel in a relevant way and has the ability to secure and nurture a strong lay leadership team, as well as provide visionary leadership for the future of the ministry and growth of the church.
Presently the church salary support is closer to bi-vocational (although the present pastor has worked full-time as pastor). We understand that the church support package will be adjusted upward as the church grows. Someone with a working spouse would find this opportunity a better fit at the present.
Interested? Please send a resume with photo to Dr. Dan A. Berry.
