Pastor's home destroyed by fire

by Wesleyan Information Network | Apr. 11, 2012

A Wesleyan pastor and his wife lost their home in a house fire on Saturday, April 7.

Pastor Aaron and Angela Taylor of Taylorsville, North Carolina, have lost their home of 31 years, along with most of their possessions. According to reports from the North Carolina West District, there is not sufficient insurance coverage to replace the home or lost belongings.

Pastor Taylor serves as a lay pastor at Taylorsville Wesleyan Church. Despite the fire tragedy, Pastor Taylor is encouraged–even commenting on the church’s Easter celebration.

“We had our best Easter service ever, and we are very thankful to all who have considered us in their thoughts and prayers,” he says. “We are totally unworthy of all the blessings and help we have received. I am convinced that God has a plan . . . and I am excited to see what is going to happen next. Praise be the name of the Lord.”

The couple is currently staying nearby at their daughter’s home.
