OKWU welcomes Herron to administrative team

Oklahoma Wesleyan University has named Dr. Robert Herron its new vice-president of academic affairs and university provost.

Dr. Herron arrives at OKWU with previous experience from both Trinity International University and Southeastern University.

At Trinity International, Dr. Herron served on the president’s executive council, and his significant accomplishments included launching three new graduate programs, a new online initiative, and establishing the office of institutional effectiveness. While at Southeastern, he oversaw the greatest expansion of academic programs in the school’s history, including 20 new undergraduate programs, four new graduate programs, and five degree completion and online programs.

Herron’s background also includes fourteen years in the classroom. He spent time traveling around the world studying and teaching, and his leadership with student and faculty programs spreads five continents.

Dr. Herron earned his M.A. in Humanities from Western Kentucky University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Rice University.
