12Stone’s New Launch Special for South Coastal DS

Nov. 3, 2009

The October 18 launch of Flowery Branch, 12Stone Church's newest satellite church, was undoubtedly an important and exciting event. But more special for Jason Berry, the young, campus pastor for the church, was that his parents could witness the occasion.

Jason is the son of Dan Berry, district superintendent of the South Coastal District. On September 20, 2007, Dan and his wife, Shelley, were badly injured in a car accident, with Shelley enduring the worst. For three weeks, she was housed in the hospital's intensive care unit and in a coma for three months after suffering a severe head injury.

"Having my parents there was great, especially with the accident," says Jason. "They could be proud parents who are proud of their kid."

"To see your son called to ministry and see services with [large numbers] in attendance is just overwhelming," says Dr. Berry.

After a year of planning, a mass mailing was sent telling community members about the campus. One hundred 12Stone regular attendees made the switch to the church plant, and launch Sunday attendance at Flowery Branch, which is located in Flowery Branch, Georgia, totaled 746.

Flowery Branch is one of two satellite campuses with 12Stone Church, The Wesleyan Church's largest church located in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
