Wesleyan Youth Weekends Announced

Jul. 30, 2010

The Spiritual Formation Department of The Wesleyan Church has announced a new format for its area Wesleyan Youth Conventions. Called “Wesleyan Youth Weekends,” the conventions will be held in four to six “tour” locations throughout the year. Spiritual Formation Department General Director Dr. Jim Dunn said, “Location, cost, and timing are the top three factors leaders and students consider. We have thoughtfully researched and prepared a transition that we believe will allow the youth movement of The Wesleyan Church to be even more effective.”

The “high intensity Wesleyan Youth Weekends for Jesus and the Church” are intended to bring more students, leaders, and churches to the event that promotes heart purity and obedience to God’s call.

Since costs have been a barrier for many students and youth groups, Weekend conventions will also allow the department to “offer the same quality programming at a fraction of the cost.”

The department has also announced that the “International Wesleyan Youth Convention” will be hosted every three years instead of every four years, starting December 28-31, 2012. Visit the Wesleyan Youth convention webpage for more information.
