Preparing Your Heart for Easter

Lent is characterized by 40 days of spiritual preparation leading to Easter Sunday. It allows Christians a time to reflect on their lives, often inspiring them to deny privileges and enjoyments for the sole purpose of focusing more on Christ’s sacrifice and triumph.

Lent is more than a “religious tradition.” It is a season of preparing and examining one's heart for Easter, remembering Christ’s death and resurrection. Paul says in Philippians 3:10, “I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His suffering, becoming like Him in His death.”

The Wesleyan Church encourages you to renew your commitment to grow in your knowledge of the Savior and to help fullfill the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment.
