First golf recruit signs with IWU

Brittney Brooks will join the inaugural Indiana Wesleyan University women's golf team in the fall of 2012. Brooks becomes the first student-athlete to ever to play for the brand new Wildcat team. Indiana Wesleyan announced the beginning of the women's golf program in the spring of 2011 and hired head coach Julie Wagner earlier this month.
IWU duo sets track & field record

Junior Kyle Abney and freshman Allix Miller are in midseason form as the Indiana Wesleyan University indoor track and field teams opened at the IWU Classic in the Troyer Fieldhouse on the Marion, Indiana, campus.
25 Houghton students named scholar-athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced its 2011 fall scholar-athlete recipients. Houghton College in Houghton, NY, announced that 25 student-athletes received award recognition.
SWU Warriors ink first members of women’s golf program

Southern Wesleyan University’s Douglas Wilkinson announced the signing of the first two student-athletes to the women’s golf program for the inaugural 2012 season. Wilkinson serves as the program’s head coach.
Callie Brothers, of Pendleton, South Carolina, and Cyndi Smith, of York, SC, will compete for the Warriors in 2012. The addition of the women’s golf team brings the total number of SWU intercollegiate athletics programs to 11.
IWU’s Stoneking joins 1,000-point club

Indiana Wesleyan University women's basketball senior center Krystal Stoneking scored her 1,000th career point in the first minute of the second half in a 101-43 victory over Wilberforce (Ohio) University on Saturday in Luckey Arena. On Saturday, Stoneking became the twenty-fourth women's basketball player at Indiana Wesleyan to reach the career milestone.
Historic IWU volleyball season ends with win

The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team closed its season Thursday with a 3-1 win over Kansas Wesleyan University at the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) national championship in Sioux City, Iowa.
Indiana Wesleyan defeated Kansas Wesleyan, a team receiving votes in the final coaches' poll, by scores of 25-12, 26-24, 23-25, 25-14.
IWU men’s & women’s basketball teams ranked No. 1

The epicenter of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division II basketball world is squarely established at Indiana Wesleyan University this week. Both the men's and women's basketball teams claimed the No. 1-ranking in the first edition of the NAIA Division II men's and women's coaches' Top-25 polls which were released by the association Monday night.
Houghton women's cross country team receives national award for character

For the first time in history, Houghton College women’s cross country has received the honor of winning the Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Team Award.
The women’s team was distinguished among all National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) cross country teams for their exemplary character and sportsmanship during the 2011 fall season. The award was granted for their fulfillment of the NAIA core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
OKWU men’s soccer loses in national tournament

The OKWU men’s soccer team lost to Baker University over the weekend in the first round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national tournament. The Eagles were shut out 2-0 and were paired up against a tough Baker team, who, at one point, was ranked third in the country.
IWU athletes headed to national championships

The Indiana Wesleyan University women's cross country team plus two individuals from the men's team will compete at the NAIA National Championships on Saturday at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington.
