IWU Wildcat Reaches 1000 Career Points

Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball senior forward Will Hubertz scored career-point 1,000 last Saturday in an 83-79 victory over Shawnee State (Ohio) University in the Cedarville Classic in Cedarville, Ohio.

Hubertz scored 10 points in the win to finish the game at exactly 1,000 points scored in his Indiana Wesleyan career. He entered the season 96 points shy of the milestone. Hubertz currently ranks second on the Wildcats in scoring at 12.0 points per game and has averaged 9.6 points in his career.

The Lafayette, Indiana, product has shot 48.2-percent from the floor in his four year career which includes 41.9-percent shooting from 3-point range. Hubertz currently ranks tenth in NAIA Division II with 22 3-point baskets this season and has hit on 201 shot from beyond the arc since coming to Indiana Wesleyan.

The Wildcats currently rank No. 24 in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll and has begun the year with a 5-3 record. IWU opened Mid-Central College Conference play on Tuesday night with a home contest against Taylor (Ind.).
