Weekly Prayer and Praise Page of Global Partners

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them;
intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. –1 Timothy 2:1 NLT

GP AFRICA AREA

Ghana: At the end of this month the Wesleyan Standard Church of Ghana will be holding its national conference. Pray for Dr. H. C. Wilson as he travels to Ghana next week to chair the conference. Pray for GP missionaries Jerry Manwaring and Zach Szmara who will also be traveling to Ghana for the conference. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s anointing to be upon all who attend the meetings. Pray for God to give guidance and wisdom to National Superintendent Joe Ocran and the National Board as decisions are made that will impact the church in Ghana.

GP ASIA AREA

Pakistan: Continue to earnestly pray for the nation of Pakistan and for Pakistani Christians. The district superintendent of The Wesleyan Church in Pakistan reported, “The nation as a whole and Christians in particular are under a constant threat from [terrorist]. . . . Now they have made schools their targets, and the government had to close schools for two weeks during the last month. Most schools are still closed due to security measures. . . . We are in a very insecure and uncertain situation here in our country. Yesterday, a 150-year-old school [was burned to ashes].”

An annual Christian convention scheduled in October was cancelled, and churches are postponing or cancelling all events. A Wesleyan school that was closed had to raise its boundary walls an additional eight feet, and the police advised the school to hire more security guards.

He added, “We are very earnestly praying to our Lord for the complete peace and harmony in our country, so that we may continue to serve Him as we have been doing in the past. Moreover, I am under immense pressure these days to soothe all the congregations of the Wesleyan churches in Pakistan who, like all others, are scared and frightened and consider them unsafe and insecure. . . . We request you with a broken heart to please keep praying for us as we need [your prayers] a lot at this point!”

GP IBERO-AMERICA AREA

Mexico: According to missionaries Bob and Susie Gray, the Wesleyan Bible school in Puebla has a record enrollment of 13 students, and the total number of students and pastors taking courses this fall in Mexico is 31. Praise the Lord! Pray for these students and pastors as they continue to prepare for current and future ministries.

On November 18-23 Bob Gray, Rev. Martin Torres, the national superintendent of The Wesleyan Church of Mexico, and missionaries Rick and Clara West will travel to Sonora. Pray for the Northwest District’s pastors’ retreat where they will be ministering and teaching. Also, pray for the possible opportunity to open a training center in this area since it is so far from the Bible school in Puebla.

Also, pray for Rick and Clara as they speak in three Wesleyan Hispanic churches in Phoenix on November 22.
