Faith alone is dead (James 2:22). It requires movement; movement requires trust. As you trust in God, you are shifting your faith into action; this done properly will allow God to do something amazing in your life.
We all need to shift and seize the opportunity to trust God with every area of our lives. As we follow after Jesus, we may realize there are some things that need to shift in our lives, such as the way we think, believe and behave. It’s time to gear up and put some traction to our faith.
SHIFT is a six-week series that focuses on areas of life that need to be transformed by the power of God. He is looking for those who will trust Him completely with a full heart. This requires a shift in how we live our lives, what we place our trust in, and how we make everyday decisions.
The SHIFT series includes:
- Week 1: Shift into Gear
- Week 2: Shift your Faith into Action
- Week 3: A Shift to Sacrifice
- Week 4: Shift from Cynical to Grateful
- Week 5: Shift to Reach Others
- Week 6: Shift into a Permanent Commitment
Sample Week 1: Shift Into Gear
Shift is your opportunity to trust God with every area of your life. As you look to follow after Jesus you may realize there are some things you need to shift in your life such as the way you think, believe and behave. It is time to gear up and put some traction to your belief.
Make Yourself AVAILABLE to GOD
“And so, dear brothers and sisters I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” (Romans 12:1)
CHOOSE where you are GOING
. . . choose today whom you will serve. . . . as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15b NLT)
”No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24 NLT).
BE on your GUARD
Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to be devour (1 Peter 5:8 NLT).
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. (Ephesians 6:11 NLT).
MAP out your ROUTE
Those who make evil plans will be ruined, but those who plan to do good will be loved and trusted (Proverbs 14:22).
