RESTRUCTURING DISBURSEMENT OF EDUCATION INSTITUTIONAL FUND (EIF) TO ENCOURAGE WESLEYAN STUDENTS TO ATTEND WESLEYAN SCHOOLS OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Whereas, Local church leadership and constituents are inquiring as to the benefits received from the EIF (Educational Institutions Fund) portion of their USF (United Stewardship Fund);

Whereas, It is their desire that more students from Wesleyan churches attend Wesleyan schools of higher education;

Whereas, Parents in our Wesleyan churches are more likely to send their students to a Wesleyan school of higher education if they see tangible benefit for their children;

Resolved, That the EIF portion of the USF paid by local churches be retained by the district in a district-managed fund to be used by Wesleyan students from that district attending Wesleyan schools of higher education;

Resolved, That said funds be given in the form of a grant, above and beyond other scholarships, grants and other financial aid received by the students from the Wesleyan schools of higher education;

Resolved, That EIF funds shall not be granted to a student if other funding exceeds the need of said student;

Resolved, That said funds be disbursed by said district to the Wesleyan schools of higher education and applied to the account of the respective student(s) within 30 days of evidence of enrollment and attendance;

Resolved, That remaining EIF funds held by the district, at the end of the church year, be released to the Wesleyan schools of higher education in the zone where the district is located, to be used as they see fit.
