ChaplainsMilitary & Institutional
Those who seek to be appointed as military or institutional chaplains must receive ecclesiastical endorsement. Endorsement is an affirmation by the Church that a person is or will be performing ministry in behalf of the Church and has presented evidence of having the special education, experience, and skills necessary for that specialized ministry.
Wesleyans are currently serving as chaplains in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Air Patrol, Veterans’ Administration, hospitals, health care centers, police forces, penal institutions, fire departments, and a variety of other institutional settings.
Donate to support Wesleyan Chaplains
Wesleyan Chaplains bring the presence of Christ to people and situations that are inaccessible to traditional pastors. Their parish is always changing; at times, it is fraught with violence and chaos. Chaplains serve in places where people are seeking faith, love, and hope. Wesleyan Chaplains serve at a tremendous sacrifice, spending months at a time away from their family or a home church setting. We provide our chaplains with additional resources and unique training events sustaining them in vibrant ministry over the long haul. Sometimes, that means books or specialized training material that improves their pastoral practice. We also offer a chaplain’s retreat. Would you prayerfully consider supporting this ministry to chaplains?
