Help people take their next step with Jesus.

On Sunday, January 31, 2027, Wesleyan churches across the country are invited to celebrate Made New Baptism Sunday. This is a shared opportunity anyone who is ready take meaningful steps in following Jesus and ensure they have a church community ready to walk with them.

Whether they are a student fresh from experiencing God at FOLLOW or a person in your congregation ready to commit their life to Christ, we want to celebrate new life in Jesus Christ through baptism!

Celebrate all who are made new.

Made New Baptism Sunday invites our churches to offer everyone the opportunity of baptism as a public expression of faith and a celebration of the new life God gives us through Jesus. It’s an opportunity to declare what God has done and our desire to follow him.

Whether you’re a youth leader following up on conversations that began at FOLLOW or a pastor guiding someone toward baptism for the first time, your church has a place in this shared celebration.

The date is an invitation, not a deadline. Baptize when someone is ready. If someone needs more time, keep walking with them. The goal is always helping people follow Jesus.

Everything you need to get started.

Download the free resource kit and start planning. Whether you’re just beginning conversations or already planning a baptism service, these resources can help you take the next step.

The resource kit includes:

  • Leader Overview: Practical guidance for leaders as they talk with people and discern readiness.
  • Baptism Guide: Help students and adults understand baptism and prepare their testimony.
  • Promotional Resources: Ready-to-use graphics, messaging, and social media content to help your church spread the word.
  • Baptism Certificate: A keepsake to celebrate and remember this meaningful step.

Let’s celebrate what God is doing.

As your church participates, share your stories, photos, and videos with us. We’d love to hear from students, adults, youth leaders, and pastors about the lives being made new through Jesus.

Your story can encourage another person, inspire another church, and remind our Wesleyan family of the work God is doing among us.
