October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and once again, The Wesleyan Church is inviting congregations across North America to celebrate with our theme, “Side by Side: Together in Ministry, United in Purpose.”
Pastor Appreciation Month is about more than simply saying “thank you.” It’s an opportunity to intentionally encourage the pastors and ministry leaders who faithfully shepherd our churches. Throughout the month, we have the privilege of reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported by the people they serve.
Ministry is a calling filled with joy, purpose, and eternal impact, but it can also be lonely. Scripture reminds us that even Elijah experienced seasons of isolation. In 1 Kings 19, after witnessing God’s incredible victory over the prophets of Baal, Elijah found himself exhausted, discouraged, and feeling alone. While every pastor’s experience is different, many understand what it means to carry the weight of ministry in quiet, unseen ways.
That’s why this year’s theme continues to matter. Side by Side is a reminder that ministry was never meant to be done alone. As the Body of Christ, we serve together, encourage one another, and pursue God’s mission with a shared purpose.
This October, we invite every congregation to intentionally remind your pastor, “We’re with you. We’re grateful for you. We’re serving Christ together.” Whether through words of encouragement, acts of kindness, or moments of celebration, your appreciation can become a source of renewed strength.

Throughout October, we encourage churches to share photos of pastors and congregations celebrating together on Facebook and Instagram using #TWCPAM.
At the end of the month, we’ll randomly select participating churches to receive prizes, including:

Every post is another opportunity to publicly celebrate the pastors who faithfully lead our churches and to encourage others to do the same.
Whether it’s a heartfelt prayer, a handwritten note, a thoughtful gift, or simply taking time to express your gratitude, every act of encouragement communicates something powerful: you are not alone.
Our hope is that every Wesleyan pastor finishes Pastor Appreciation Month knowing they are surrounded by people who care deeply for them, believe in the work God has called them to, and are committed to serving side by side as we fulfill Christ’s mission together.
