Remembering Rev. Denor Rosemond, a faithful servant and leader among us.
The Wesleyan Church grieves with our brothers and sisters in Haiti following the unexpected passing of Rev. Denor Rosemond, National Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church of Haiti.
Rev. Rosemond passed away Friday, October 2, at ASEBED Hospital in Cap-Haïtien following a brief illness.
Just months ago, Rev. Rosemond was entrusted with leading The Wesleyan Church of Haiti into a new chapter as its first National Superintendent following its recognition as an Established National Conference. He also served on the International Board of The Wesleyan Church, representing Haiti among the leaders of our worldwide Wesleyan family.
Today, however, we remember more than his titles. We give thanks for a servant of Jesus Christ who gave himself to the ministry of the church and to the people of Haiti. His leadership came at a significant moment for the Haitian Wesleyan church, and his sudden passing is a deep loss for his family, his fellow pastors and leaders, and Wesleyans throughout Haiti and around the world.
On behalf of The Wesleyan Church in North America, we extend our deepest condolences to Rev. Rosemond’s family and to The Wesleyan Church of Haiti. We grieve with our Haitian brothers and sisters, and we hold them close in prayer.
Yet we do not grieve without hope.
Our faith rests in Jesus Christ, who said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” (John 11:25).
We give thanks for Rev. Rosemond’s life and faithful service, trusting that the grace he proclaimed is the grace that now holds him. May the Holy Spirit comfort his family, strengthen the church in Haiti, and sustain all who mourn.
We are one Wesleyan family, and today we mourn together, pray together, and hold fast to the hope we share in Jesus Christ.
