Dr. Jim Dunn returns to The Wesleyan Church headquarters as General Superintendent, carrying with him a lifelong love for Christ, Christian higher education and the church. A pastor and denominational leader for more than three decades, his leadership begins with humility, deep faith and genuine love for people.
At his core, Jim longs to see believers united in Christ — leading, serving and learning together in such a way that the world cannot help but put their faith in Christ.
Jim holds degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois. He taught at Wesley Seminary and Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana, and served on many boards across the Wesleyan movement. Upon his election at the 15th General Conference of The Wesleyan Church, Jim concluded seven years of service as the sixth president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, his alma mater in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Jim is passionate about leading “as unto Jesus Christ,” believing in others and calling them toward their full potential for the kingdom. He and his wife, Wendy, are grateful for the opportunity to serve The Wesleyan Church family and enjoy time with their four children and four grandchildren.
