Technological advances like the Internet have opened up worlds of possibilities.

If you’re flying to your vacation destination, just check in online for the flight. Maybe you’re ordering Grandma’s birthday gift online. Simply swipe your card, hit “submit,” and order the gift while snow swirls outside. You can also visit your bank’s Web site to see if enough money is in your bank account for an upcoming purchase.

While the Internet offers conveniences and opportunities, it also holds various dangers. Some obvious, and others not so obvious.

There’s a new online trend that serves as a wake-up call for parents. Just a few months old, the social networking site Chatroulette connects users to strangers all over the world, via webcams. Although Chatroulette requires users to be 16, child advocates fear that some could be child predators.

CBS News recently featured this new and controversial social networking site on The Early Show. Click on the link to read the story or view the full report on how you can best protect your family.
