LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – 12Stone® Church hosted over 600 pastors at the Home Run Leader Conference at The John C. Maxwell Leadership Center at 12Stone Church February 18, 2014. Guest speakers included internationally recognized leadership expert, John Maxwell; Senior Pastor of Gateway Church, Robert Morris; and Senior Pastor of 12Stone Church, Kevin Myers. It was the first major event at the recently dedicated center.

Speaking to the church leaders, Myers said, “If God doesn’t change us it’s hard to lead a life-changing church. Your witness starts with your competence in what you do.”

The conference was based on Home Run: Learn God’s Game Plan for Life and Leadership: a book co-authored by Myers and Maxwell released February 4th.

“Everything rises and falls on leadership,” said Maxwell. “If we are to radically change the leadership landscape in the church and in our world, leaders must invest in the next generation of leaders.”

John C. Maxwell is a speaker, coach, and author who has sold over 22 million books. Dr. Maxwell founded EQUIP and The John Maxwell Company – organizations that have trained more than 5 million leaders worldwide.

At The Maxwell Leadership Center, 12Stone® Church in partnership with The John Maxwell Company, EQUIP, and Wesleyan Investment Foundation will help shape the next generation of ministry leadership while honoring the leadership legacy of John C. Maxwell.

The Maxwell Leadership Center houses EQUIP headquarters and Williams Auditorium, a state-of-the-art broadcast recording studio where Maxwell produces his digital library.

12Stone’s leadership development objectives are to be achieved through three primary initiatives: a residency program with a “live lab” setting similar in philosophy to a teaching hospital; leadership coaching; and continuing education programs in partnership with churches, Indiana Wesleyan University, Wesley Seminary, and the Wesleyan Church.
