The entire assembly of Judah rejoiced. . . . There was great joy in Jerusalem. (2 Chron. 30:25–26)

MOM AND I THREW my papa a whopping retirement party with all the decorations and trimmings. We invited many friends and family he’d known through the years. All were extremely excited for him as he was retiring after fifty years with the same company. What an achievement! Papa was the center of attention as his hard work had finally paid off. He was retiring so to speak, but on the farm that still meant working a full day and then some.

Hezekiah and his followers rejoiced by celebrating God’s goodness and greatness. There had never been a celebration like it in the land. Likewise, when Jesus, the Groom, is united with His bride, the church, the celebration will be forever and will be nothing the human mind can ever imagine. What a wonderful time God’s people will share with their Creator and Savior!

Whatever celebrations we experience here on earth do not begin to compare to the celebration in heaven. All creatures will delight as Jesus welcomes His bride. When God’s people retire from this world into heaven, not only will they enjoy the blessings of heaven, but being in the presence of the Father gift of eternal life be achieved, but being in the presence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit will be worthy of devout and incomparable celebration. There aren’t enough words to describe how magnificent a celebration will take place in heaven.

Celebrate the Lord in everything you do.
