Well done, good and faithful servant! . . . Come and share your master’s happiness! (Matt. 25:23)

Over twenty-five years ago I was first introduced to Pastor Tim McClellan. At the time he was a successful pastor in Iowa, and I was a missionary who was heading to Cambodia. We were meeting because Tim had heard about the Wesleyan denomination’s vision to do ministry in Southeast Asia. Tim wanted to see how he and the church he was shepherding could help. Tim had a big heart for the lost. After someone spent just a few minutes with him, he would begin talking about his concern for those who did not know Christ and how we could reach them with the gospel. Upon hearing that less than one percent of the Cambodian population were Christians, Tim’s heart was stirred. His response was to ask how they could refrain from getting involved.

Pastor Tim and his church were the first to come on board to support Roxene and me and the ministry God had called us to in Cambodia. Because of his support, dozens of Cambodians know Christ today and are living for him.

On July 18, 2019, Tim passed away and entered into his heavenly reward. I am sure there were Cambodians in heaven who greeted him and thanked him for his part in their salvation. More importantly, I have a feeling that when Tim stood before God he was told, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Live your life so that God can commend you for your faithfulness.
