Listen to today’s devo!

For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life. (Ps. 56:13)

Expanded Passage: Psalm 56

Do you remember what it is like to feel spiritually lost—the time in your life when chaos ruled, darkness hovered, and you just didn’t know which way to turn to be rescued? The feeling of hopelessness is an experience that contains deafening silence and too much noise all at once. Now, think about the moment you experienced being found, as a son or daughter of God. The difference is night and day, isn’t it?

As a poet, David poured out words that resonate with us and hit us in the heart. Just as he shared feeling overwhelmed and pressed in on all sides by his enemies, we too can relate. David was honest when he cried out to God. In his vulnerability with God, David also declared his trust in the Lord who has always come through.

God hears our cries and sees our struggles. God is faithful to come through. God is faithful to rescue. God is faithful to keep us from stumbling. All we need to do is trust and walk in his ways. God is always right there beside us, willing and able to rescue and guide us. We just need to turn to him and take his hand. As we walk hand in hand with God, may we also remember to sing praises to our Lord.

Be vulnerable and honest with God and let him guide you.
