Prayer Focus: For Wesleyans to boldly embrace God’s mission in here, near, hard and far places in the Kansas and Kentucky-Tennessee Districts.
Scripture: Ephesians 4:11-16
Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,
to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. (vv. 11-12)
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank you for all with whom we are honored to serve in The Wesleyan Church. You gathered us together for a reason and we pray that you will enable us to fulfill that purpose. May we not lose sight of that.
We pray specifically for District Superintendent (DS) Nate Rovenstine and the Kansas District; as well as DS Aaron Sherman and the Kentucky-Tennessee District. You placed them in the position of superintendent of these districts where they make disciples, baptize them and teach them to obey your commands. May you empower DS Rovenstine, DS Sherman and the body of Christ in these districts to walk in the fullness of the Great Commission, so that the disciples they make, will make more disciples, who in turn, make even more.
We ask that as these disciples grow and mature in the Kansas and Kentucky-Tennessee Districts. Equip them, Father, for works of service that lead to unity in the faith and a greater knowledge of the Son of God. May this service not exclude the laity who are also called to share the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ where they live, work and study. All these marketplaces can only be reached through the prayerful and intentional efforts of the entire body as guided by you.
Lord, we ask that you pour out your Holy Spirit for this purpose as DS Sherman and DS Rovenstine lead the congregations in these districts to empower their members to boldly embrace the mission of the Great Commission. Amen.
