Prayer Focus: For Wesleyans to boldly embrace God’s mission in here, near, hard and far places in the South Carolina and South Coastal Districts.
Scripture: Ephesians 4:11-16
Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,
to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. (vv. 11-12)
Jesus,
You told us that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to you. And in that authority, you called us to go — make disciples, baptize and teach all you’ve commanded (Matthew 28:18-20). Today, we set our eyes and hearts on that mission with fresh courage, determination and joy.
Thank you for the leaders and gifts you’ve placed in your church to equip us for serving, so that together we can build up the body of Christ (vv. 11-12). Help us to serve faithfully, speak truth with love, and grow side by side in unity, maturity and purpose.
Lord, we lift up South Carolina District Superintendent (DS) Richard Hall. Fill him with wisdom, endurance, and Spirit-led boldness as he leads your people to live out this mission with passion and vision. We also pray for South Coastal DS Tim Fox. Strengthen him to inspire leaders, equip believers and guide churches into a deeper, more committed life of disciple-making.
Holy Spirit, stir up in us a fearless faith — a boldness that moves us past our comfort zones to speak the truth of the gospel and love people into your kingdom. Let us move forward with confidence, knowing you are with us always and forever.
We place our plans, fears and limitations in your hands. Your mission will not fail. May our lives shine brightly with your glory and bear fruit that lasts.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
