Prayer Focus: For The Wesleyan Church to boldly embrace God’s mission as one body, united by one faith, serving One Lord.
Scripture: Acts 1:4-8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses …” (v. 8)
Jehovah Sabaoth, Lord of Hosts,
You alone are King of kings and Lord of lords. You are sovereign over all.
We come before you with gratitude for all you’ve done in and through our denomination. We lift our denomination before you as we prepare to enter a new quadrennium. We’re not content with status quo faith or merely holding the line — we long for more of you, your presence, power and purpose.
Lord, unite us — leaders, pastors and congregations — with one heart and vision, anchored in biblical truth.
Holy Spirit, give us boldness to fully embrace the mission you’ve entrusted to us. We give you full access to lead, fill and empower us to bring hope, sharing about your transformative power with a hurting world.
Revive our pastors. Reignite our churches with your holy fire. Renew us all.
May people see something unmistakable in us — something holy, alive and clearly from you. Draw the lost and broken through the witness of your people. Let The Wesleyan Church be a denomination where women and men of every background, generation, ethnicity and income level are welcomed, discipled and sent.
Let unity, grace and holy love be what mark us.
We surrender our denomination to you — every plan, every leader, every church. Guide Dr. Wayne Schmidt and the current General Board to finish well and raise up the leaders you’ve chosen for the next quadrennium.
Jehovah Sabaoth, you reign over all — creation, justice, righteousness and peace.
