Prayer Focus: The Wesleyan Church’s 15th General Conference preparations.

Scripture: Proverbs 16:1-3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (v. 3)

Gracious God,

We bring the General Conference leadership team, rally speakers and all who will lead devotions at the 15th General Conference to you. Thank you for calling and empowering them. We entrust their leadership to you.

As they prepare to speak, establish their thoughts and plans. May we sense your heart through their words. Where we need prophetic challenge, would you give them boldness? Where we need encouragement, would you give them a shepherd’s heart? Where we need to change, would you use their words to inspire courage in us? Where we need to stay the course, would you use their words to inspire steadfastness in us? Where we need to be unified, would you use their words to bring us together? And, in all things, Father, would you use their words to point us to Jesus?

For the leadership team, we ask that you make the work a joy, as they commit the tasks before them to you and your purposes. Equip them to prepare well, with deep dependence on you. We desire, Lord, to see you inspire fresh faith in us, courageous ministry in our contexts, unity between all of us as brothers and sisters, and a renewed sense of your holiness in our church.

May your kingdom come, and your will be done at General Conference as it is in heaven.

In the name of Christ our Lord, amen.

Steve Dunmire
