See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. (Josh. 3:11)

My husband, Cliff, learned he had metastatic cancer that included several lesions on his brain. The doctors kept asking whether he had experienced any headaches. It was a miracle from God that he never did. We prayed for complete healing; whether earthly or heavenly, of course, was God’s call. I knew either way he would be in God’s hands, because he had accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. God chose a heavenly healing, led him into his promised land, and I can claim God’s promise that I will one day see Cliffie again!

The Lord led his people out of bondage from Egypt. He led them into a land of their own, a land he promised them. Not even the floodwaters of the Jordan could prevent the Lord of all the earth from leading his people through. The fact that the Israelites could cross the Jordan on dry land was a miracle from God. The Creator can do whatever he wants in the earth or the water. Even the Jordan beheld his majesty!

Similarly, God will lead each of us out of the bondage of sin, through the saving grace of Jesus Christ, if we choose to let him. If we prayerfully acknowledge our sinfulness, ask for forgiveness, and invite Jesus into our hearts, he will save us. Only his gift of salvation will lead us into our eternal promised land.

Let God lead you to a place of freedom.
