From the family of Dr. Earle L. Wilson:

It is with a profound sense of conflicting emotions that we wish to announce the passing of our beloved husband/father/grandfather/and great-grandfather.

Today we grieve the loss of someone who brought a tremendous amount of comfort, guidance, support and inspiration to us all. Holding the hand of Jesus, Dad walked through the pearly gates of heaven at 11:24 p.m. on November 24, 2020.

In just a matter of days, Dad would have celebrated his 86th year in this life. Instead, today marks the first day of his eternal number of days in heaven itself.

We mourn his passing and the great sense of loss we now feel. But we rejoice in his victory, knowing that he has received the reward of his faith and been reunited with family members who have gone on before!

“In the days ahead The Wesleyan Church will more fully enumerate and celebrate the wonderful contributions of Dr. Earle Wilson over his many years of service,” said General Superintendent Wayne Schmidt. “On a personal note, Dr. Wilson was part of more than a few pivotal and formative moments in my life and ministry, including his prayer for me immediately after my election as General Superintendent at General Conference 2016. We join heaven in rejoicing over his faithful ministry.”

Memorial contributions may be directed to Wesley Seminary and The Earle & Sylvia Wilson Endowed Scholarship Fund, 4201 S. Washington St., Marion, IN 46953: https://seminary.indwes.edu/donate.

Update 11/30/20:
Plans are being finalized for a family graveside service on Saturday, December 5. A public celebration will be held in the future. The date has not been determined. Dr. Wilson will be buried at the Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.

Thank you for your continued prayer for the Wilson family.
