The following prayer request was sent by missionary Jessica Spicer:

“Bill’s* uncle was shot and killed two years ago. Since then he has been seeking relief from the pain in drugs, smoking, and the wrong crowd. But God has also been chasing after him. He told my teammate that God gives him “the courage to be different,” leading him to walk away from a fight earlier this month even after another boy hit him! Considering his background where revenge killing is an unwritten cultural law, his reaction to the violence made a very bold statement. Since English camp at the end of June, Bill has been present every single time our doors are open for teen or church ministry and has sought out spiritual conversation with our staff. Please pray for this young man’s discipleship process. Pray that he will continue to stand boldly against sinful behavior in the culture, and pray that he will draw his friends to Jesus.”

Karis People

One of our missionary couples* living and ministering among the Karis people sent the following praise report:

“We are SO thrilled to announce that Samuel’s* friend Edward* has joined God’s family and received the beautiful gift of salvation! After several conversations that led Samuel to believe Edward was getting close, Edward wrote to Samuel saying he was ready. They met and Edward received Jesus and his first Bible in his native tongue. Since that day, just a few weeks ago, he has been baptized and has been reading his Bible daily, praying, attributing blessings to answers to prayer, and battling sin. It’s amazing to see his desire to learn and obey. He is so in awe of who Jesus is and how loved he is by Jesus. The Lord is merciful and faithful! Pray as Edward continues his spiritual journey; pray that he would grow strong in the faith. Pray that his family would also come to know Jesus.”
