You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (Rom. 5:6)

“LORD, IT IS GETTING CLOSE to the time for me to leave. I am afraid, and I need a work from you soon.” I had prayed for six months for God to remove my fear of flying, and it was nearly time to go. I was leaving on a mission trip to China. As my prayers revealed, I had trepidations about making the trip.

For the next five days, the Lord did His work. The Holy Spirit revealed that my problem was death. Through the book Night of a Million Miracles, I was reminded that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ. Then, the book Crazy Love pointed out that I am not to love anyone or anything more than God. And through a devotional I was reminded of who Jesus is. Finally, God directed me to Philippians 4:6–7 for encouragement. It all came at just the right time

The death of Christ on the cross came at just the right time. We were sinners, yet God, in His perfect love, chose to make the ultimate sacrifice by the death of Jesus on the cross. What has God done for you lately? Could you look in recent months and see how His has been at work? Did that build your trust and belief in who He is?

Read Philippians 4:6–7 and pray for peace.
