We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom. 5:1)

“THE BIOPSY IS GOING TO BE positive for cancer, and I’m going to handle it.” These were words whispered in my ear by God, through the Holy Spirit, on August 27, 2014. Peace was given to me. No matter what, I knew God would handle it. In the months that followed, through multiple surgeries and several setbacks, I called on Him many times when I was afraid, doubtful, or concerned.

How did I have that kind of assurance and peace? During the more than thirty years I have had a relationship with God, He has shown himself faithful during many difficult situations. He has provided and fulfilled promises from His Word and has communicated with me through prayer, anytime and anyplace. Peace comes from knowing that when you do communicate a need, God is what He says He is and does what He says He will do. That perfect peace is available to all who follow God. It is His gift to those who trust Him, free to all who ask.

Have you made peace with God? It’s the most important decision of your life, and the new plans and promises unveiled are innumerable. God will show himself to you just like He has me. You will find that you can have confidence in what He says and trust the promises He makes.

When leaving your house today, say, “I’m stepping into trusting God.”
