World Hope International announced today the appointment of Dr. George Beals as director of church development. Beals comes to World Hope with 25 years as missions pastor of Central Wesleyan Church in Holland, Mich., where he directed global ministries, managing an outreach budget of over $1.7 million. Beals holds a Ph.D. in missiology from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

In his role as Director of Church Development, Beals will work directly with World Hope’s church partners to strategize missions work and formulate partnerships with vulnerable communities around the world.

Beals currently serves on the Lausanne Movement Business as Mission Think Tank and is a Kern Fellow at the Acton Institute. Beals is the founder of the missions pastor forum for West Michigan which brings together mission pastors from many churches to exchange ideas.

In reflecting his enthusiasm with Beal’s appointment, John Lyon, WHI CEO & president, stated, “George’s deep set understanding of the church’s role in missions, background in relief and development, and commitment to serving the poor as Jesus did will be an asset to advancing WHI’s mission around the world.” You can reach Beals at GeorgeBeals@WorldHope.net.
