For the second year in a row, Houghton College of Houghton, N.Y., has received the highest ranking (four out of four stars) for quality of life from the prestigious publication The Fiske Guide to Colleges for 2015.

Houghton also ranked high in social activities and was praised for having a beautiful, rural, spacious campus. Fiske’s guide also praised Houghton for its large equestrian center and strong academic programs, where almost 50 percent of the students have taken advantage of the off-campus study programs that span around the globe.

“Houghton combines academic rigor, athletic excellence, and intentional spiritual formation in a fun-loving and Christ-centered community,” said a current Houghton junior in Fiske’s review.

Compiled by former New York Times education editor Edward B. Fiske, Fiske Guide to Colleges is a selective, subjective, and systematic look at 300+ colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain.
