“I want to personally thank Dr. Derr for her hard work and commitment to growing the Seminary during her time as President. The Seminary has thrived under her service, and then leadership, these past 12 years and has become an innovative, transformational, and globally accessible institution that equips Christian leaders to engage in missional ministry. Her many contributions to the Seminary’s success include accelerated growth in enrollment, increasing its diversity, and expanding its program offerings.

‘I have been blessed to serve Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University these past twelve years as a member of the faculty and then as president of the seminary,’ said Dr. Derr. ‘Indiana Wesleyan has invested in my personal and professional growth and has provided opportunities and experiences that have enriched my life, grown my faith, and expanded my vision for Christian education and the Kingdom.  It has been a joy to serve alongside amazing men and women who live out their call to ministry through Christian higher education with such excellence.’

“Join me in congratulating Dr. Derr on her new appointment. Please keep her and Wayne in your prayers as they transition to ENC.”

“The Wesleyan Church is so grateful for the outstanding leadership of Dr. Derr as president of Wesley Seminary,” said General Superintendent Wayne Schmidt. “She has expanded the educational reach of the Seminary nationally and globally, and as a result that investment in both lay and clergy learners has made the Church stronger and better.”
