President of Indiana Wesleyan University, Dr. Jon Kulaga announces that Dr. Yamil Acevedo accepted the position of Executive Vice President of Wesley Seminary. His acceptance comes after serving as the Interim EVP of Wesley Seminary. During his time leading the Seminary, Dr. Acevedo quickly established a strong rapport with both the leadership team and faculty and immediately began addressing the enrollment challenges at the Seminary.

Dr. Kulaga stated, “He has done an excellent job closing the gap to ensure the Seminary achieves its enrollment goals. I appreciate his commitment to building stronger relationships between Wesley Seminary, Wesleyan churches, and Indiana Wesleyan University, as well as the larger Wesleyan evangelical theological family both domestically and internationally.” Under his leadership, Acevedo has and will continue to strive to bring clarity and boldness to the value of equipping people for contextual ministry engagement to reach spheres of influence for the Glory of God.

Dr. Acevedo’s developing skills and past experiences have been preparing him for this leadership role. He looks forward to leading the faculty and staff there, saying, “Wesley Seminary is encircled by an exceptional team, each of whom, from their diverse spheres of influence and ministry, wholeheartedly dedicates themselves to its mission. We eagerly anticipate what God has prepared for the seminary and its students. I am thankful for the opportunity to collaborate in HIS mission in this capacity.”

At Wesley Seminary, the faculty invests in each student personally and is a place where pastors are fully trained. By focusing on each student for equipping and mobilizing in ministry, the leaders grown at Wesley Seminary are creating a global impact. Dr. Acevedo is ready and able to lead these efforts, and with God’s guidance, he will move Wesley Seminary to a place of even greater impact.
