See a need, meet a need was the idea behind the 2015 School Supply Giveaway held at First Wesleyan Church in Wichita, Kansas. Over 100 volunteers, including a local Boy Scout Troop, gathered at various times to plan, prepare, and execute the most successful giveaway yet.

The goal was to giveaway 150 backpacks and 300 basic school supply packs to local children for the upcoming school year. This goal was achieved as young and old alike joined together in faith believing for the Lord’s provision. A partnership with a local elementary school, educating over 600 children, was birthed from the giveaway. The church is excited to consistently connect and impact the community in the area. Not only was the community impacted but the church was impacted as well. One of First Wesleyan teens led this project and will earn his Eagle Scout Badge. His mission is the church’s mission: loving Jesus, loving People.
