Praise the Lord. I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly. (Ps. 111:1)

HAVE YOU EVER been so excited about something that it seems you cannot hold it in? This excitement comes bubbling out like a fountain and the subject is spread out for all to see. Children are not always the best at keeping secrets. Their excitement wins out and the whole picture is laid out for everyone to see. This response can be unfortunate when you’re trying to withhold a pleasant surprise for someone you love. As we grow older, we learn that some things are more fun when kept secret, like gifts, surprise parties, and special announcements.

But not when it comes to God. Wouldn’t it be nice to have such excitement about the Lord and his great love for us that we could not help but tell about him? Today’s verse speaks of sharing within the gathering of the family of believers, but at other times, we can also share evangelistically with those who have yet to believe.

Don’t keep secrets when it comes to God and what he has done in your life. Tell of his great love for you. Share the wonderful things you have witnessed. Relate the stories of him that you have heard. If you love him, let the whole world know just how you feel about the Lord God of the heavens and the earth.

Make your proclamation of love for the Lord every day!
