The unfolding of your words gives light. (Ps. 119:130)
MORNING UNFOLDS as radiant beams crest over the horizon. Darkness gives way to light. The sun’s ascending rays illuminate our surroundings, bringing clarity with their brightness.
In a similar way, God’s Word brings light into our darkness. It gradually unfolds as we deepen our relationship with Him. In the beginning, when we first take God’s hand, we cannot grasp the full meaning of His message. He reveals only what we can comprehend at the time. Knowing our limited minds, He gradually unfolds His truths, lighting the path for each step of our journey.
As we become comfortable in trusting God, He begins to reveal more and more. We can read a passage several times. But then one day, we discover something new—something we hadn’t previously seen. We are amazed, and we wonder at our discovery. Why hadn’t we seen that before? God, in His wisdom, recognized we were ready. He unfolded a new truth, lighting the way for our next step.
The longer we walk with God, the more we acquire a thirst to learn more about Him, and the more we learn about how we are to live. We delve deeper into His Word. We soak up the truths within its pages. We trust God to be our guide and show us the way. We continue forth in confidence.
