Listen to today’s devo!

My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times. (Ps. 119:20)

Expanded Passage: Psalm 119:17-24

When I am working on a project, whatever it may be, it usually takes up every last bit of my time. It could be a ministry project or a creative project simply for the fun of it. Big or small, I will obsess over it. Even if it is something as simple as a couple of desserts for a family Christmas party, I will scour through Pinterest, find more ideas than I will ever need, and go all out making something crazy.

For some people, once they are hit with inspiration, they cannot seem to think about anything else. They are consumed with a desire to make their dreams a reality. This level of inspiration and energy is similar to what God’s people are supposed to feel. Believers are supposed to find delight in his law and to love him with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength. It is easy to praise God during the good times. Sometimes it is easy to cling to God during the darkest of times. Whether a person is in an enjoyable season of life or a dark season, or anywhere in between, they should continuously long to follow the Lord. That is what keeps us going and sticking close to the right path.

Follow God with a consuming passion all the time.
