There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image. (Rev. 14:11)

Have you ever gone for an extended amount of time without sleep? It doesn’t take long for the human body to begin to experience adverse side effects from a lack of sleep. Some studies say that within twenty-four hours of sleep deprivation, a person can begin to see the impact. We need regular rest to be alert, think clearly, and function at a healthy level. I don’t know about you, but when I’m not well-rested, I am not at my best.

The thought of no rest, day or night, is unthinkable to me. In Revelation, we read that this is exactly what those who turn away from the Lamb and give their worship to the beast will experience.

When I think about what this means for those who aren’t in a relationship with Jesus, it makes my heart ache for the torment that they will experience apart from him. This thought motivates me to share Jesus with those I meet, to live and love like him, so that others will come to know his saving grace and be saved from experiencing an eternity apart from the Lamb and his peace. May this passage of Scripture serve as a reminder for us, as those who follow the Lamb, to share the good news of the gospel with those who do not yet know him.

Ask the Lord for an opportunity to share about the Lamb.
