Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Ps. 118:1)

FOR WEEKS ELAINE SUFFERED with an unnamed life-threatening infection. Her pain was unbearable. With unspoken words, she called to the Lord. Finally, after a treatable diagnosis was identified, her condition began to slowly improve. Even with the improvement, she was fearful and desperate yet hoping for the best.

The family contacted her home church, asking for prayers for their wife, mother, and grandmother. Cards and phone calls were received from church members and friends. They all carried the same theme. They told of petitioning the Lord on her behalf, assuring her of God’s enduring loving and care.

When Elaine was too ill to find the words to pray, others interceded for her. Later Elaine said, “Because of the prayers of God’s people, I knew the Lord was with me. In time I was discharged, set free to recover at home with assistance from visiting nurses and physical therapists, along with the continuing prayers of my ‘brothers and sisters.’ God heard the cries for help and the petitions of my family and friends. He was with me all through this journey.”

Ask the loving Lord to set you free from your fears.
