Thursday, October 8, 2015, marked the beginning of a new phase of growth for Oklahoma Wesleyan as the University broke ground for the first in a series of new dorms.

Oklahoma Wesleyan remains committed to its debt-free status, and funding for the dorm has been generously donated to the University by members of the OKWU community. “OKWU is blessed in so many ways, not the least of which is dynamic growth,” said Dr. Everett Piper. “We are profoundly grateful for the support of dear friends . . . who make it possible for us to build a beautiful campus while we serve exceptional students.”

Located just behind the Carriage House on the Bartlesville, Okla., campus, the new dorm will have 20 rooms and can house 40 students.

“OKWU and the Board of Trustees are deeply appreciative of the financial contributions from the Drakes, the Lyon Foundation, and others who have donated to make building this new dorm a possibility,” said Roger Metcalf, chairman of the Board of Trustees. “OKWU is truly blessed to have friends like this who understand our mission and want to further our cause.”
