For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Rev. 7:17)
A DEFECTIVE WATER FILTER attached to the refrigerator’s water dispenser causes water to taste worse than water from the tap. All we want is to drink water that tastes good. The funny thing is, no matter how many filters we go through, we can never match the taste of God’s water.
No matter how technologically advanced we’ve become, even in the field of medicine, we’ve never been able to discover a fountain of youth. We are more educated on how to care for our bodies for a longer life. Organ transplants, once completely unheard of, now occur regularly to prolong life. Still, in spite of all our efforts, we don’t know how to keep a body alive forever. Medications can help with depression, but as helpful as they may be, they do not eliminate heartbreak or sorrow.
Our Shepherd will lead us to springs of the best-tasting water imaginable. There will be no more death in the place of this water. Our Shepherd’s touch will permanently dry our tears, and our hearts will never hurt again.
Look forward to the day the Shepherd will take you to the place of life and joy eternal.
