It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt . . . and performed those great signs. (Josh. 24:17)
God did miraculous things through the denominational youth conventions I was privileged to lead for over twenty-five years. We depended on God’s power at every turn. Prayers were offered daily for youth groups, youth pastors, and churches. We were on our knees for the next generation to hear from and obey God. We begged God to call our children into vocational ministry and vocational service for his kingdom.
I will always cherish the supernatural and great signs of the Lord through such ministry endeavors, even as my own children have answered God’s call on their lives and vocations through this ministry.
The Israelites knew there were some things only God could have done for them. No one else could have orchestrated things the way they played out. Only God and his power could have delivered them and their parents out of Egypt like he did. No one else can deliver people from slavery like God does. No one can drive out entire nations before our eyes.
In my interactions with others, I often ask them to look for the supernatural in their surroundings, rather than just the natural. We need to remember that God is at work and he has ability like none other. He can tear down walls supernaturally when all we see are natural, obvious hurdles. He can make all things possible when all we can see are impossibilities.
Remember that the Lord is your God!
