Listen to today’s devo!

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (Ps. 91:1)

Last summer on a Friday afternoon, we had just picked up our son Caleb from school when it started raining heavily. Over the next five to fifteen minutes, hailstones started pounding our vehicle with the possibility of smashing the windshield. In a desperate attempt to save the car from damage (and possibly our lives), we drove to the nearby gas station along the highway. With a sigh of relief, we were safe under the gas station shelter.

In life, we will face many diverse storms—financial difficulties, psychological trauma, and health predicaments, to mention a few. Moreover, these storms of life will come unexpectedly and with great potential to affect our lives severely. Nevertheless, when we encounter troubles and all manner of trials in life, we can find rest for our distressed hearts and minds in a spiritual secret place of safety. This is a place where we can ascertain complete, divine rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Are you worried about what tomorrow holds? Have you lost something meaningful in your life? Is any part of your family life falling apart? Have you lost hope for living? God has a place for you to find rest and healing. God’s presence is a safe place to access inner security and divine protection in a world of uncertainties.

Make an intentional decision to rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
