The Women’s Ministry of The Wesleyan Church has named a new director. Rev. Andrea Summers has been appointed to serve as the interim director of Women’s Ministry in the Church Multiplication and Discipleship Division of The Wesleyan Church.
“Andrea is a choice servant of the Lord who will give outstanding leadership to our Women’s Ministry Movement across North America and beyond as we focus on fulfilling the Great Commission in the Spirit of the Great Commandment,” said Dr. Jim Dunn, Executive Director of the Church Multiplication and Discipleship Division.” She will give direction to a Women’s Ministry leadership team of field staff and work from The Wesleyan Church World Headquarters in Fishers, Indiana.
“I feel so honored to be serving The Wesleyan Church in this new role,” said Andrea. “I am humbled by the rich stream of ministry to women and ministry on behalf of the women for the world that I am stepping into.”
Rev. Summers is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University and Asbury Theological Seminary. She has served on staff in local churches for five years and in the office of Community Life at Asbury. Rev. Summers is an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church and has been involved in women’s ministry by developing Bible studies and leading elements of Wesleyan Women’s anti-trafficking endeavors. She has taught classes at Indiana Wesleyan University, primarily in the areas of Bible and theology.
“I believe in the Church as God’s vehicle to set creation free from bondage and corruption, and I look forward to partnering with women across the globe in this effort,” says Rev. Summers.
Andrea is no stranger to The Wesleyan Church and its constituents. She is married to Rev. Jeremy Summers, director of adult spiritual formation in the Church Multiplication and Discipleship Division of The Wesleyan Church, and is the daughter of Dr. Kerry Kind, director of communication for The Wesleyan Church.
