Listen to today’s devo!

The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. (Ps. 29:11)

Yellowstone Park in Wyoming is known as a natural wonder of the world for its more than 10,000 geothermal sites, including the famous Old Faithful Geyser. Cappadocia, Turkey, boasts a plateau of soft volcanic rock that was sculpted by mighty winds. And 2,800-year-old baobab trees in Madagascar boast 35-foot-thick trunks. These all still stand today. Considered ancient wonders, the manmade Colossus of Rhodes and Lighthouse of Alexandria were destroyed by earthquakes.

Whether natural or manmade, the voice of the Lord has control over all creation. As he displays his majesty in the Northern Lights, he can also twist trees and uproot forests through the power of storms. He can create tsunamis and calm the seas. He can cause volcanos, hurricanes, and floods, and he can bring the rainbow to follow. Nothing escapes the power of God.

He governs the world and rules the hearts of men. He causes believers to praise him in the storm as well as in the calm. Our Lord has provided all we need to live. He strengthens and furnishes us to share his love as we bless and encourage others. He teaches us to give grace as he bestows grace. He gives peace as he is endless peace. We can exalt his majesty in the works he has created and in the promise of his kingdom to come.

Go forth as his voice; be blessed to be a blessing.
