The ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs . . . since the new covenant is established on better promises. (Heb. 8:6)

The ministry of the priests of Israel cost them little. The ministry of Jesus cost him his life before and after the cross. He lived to teach us and died to save us. No man can say the same for their ministries. Who could be better?

Aaron and the priests of the tribe of Levi offered gifts and sacrifices for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus gave the only sacrifice for the cleansing of sin. Forgiveness is good, but being rid of sin is better.

We must die to our sin and take on the new life of Jesus. We must deny our wills and bend to the will of God that Jesus taught. Soon we will not be able to turn to him for it will be too late. We must turn now. When could be better?

But we cannot turn without Jesus. We cannot be forgiven without Jesus. We cannot be saved without Jesus. God calls us through his Son, and we will answer affirmatively or negatively. It is our choice.

And if we choose, God promises he will never leave us and that we can be his sons and daughters. He promises us mercy and forgiveness. He promises us eternity. He promises he will be with us always. God’s faithfulness to his promises is unwavering and unshakable. What could be better?

Do not put off your answer to God.
