Listen to today’s devo!

In the place where it was said to them, “You are not my people,” they will be called “children of the living God.” (Hos. 1:10)

Every year, in late winter, millions of people gather around to watch the Super Bowl—or at least the commercials. After sixty minutes of gameplay, the world champions hoist the Lombardi Trophy and begin a year-long celebration of their success. But after the confetti settles and the parades are over, who remembers the second-best team in the National Football League? For most fans, it takes a little heavy lifting to remember who lost the Super Bowl the previous year.

We live in spiritual world as well as a physical. We have a real enemy who should be taken seriously. However, in comparison to God, there is no competition. If the devil is in second place, he’s so far back, he can’t be seen. This is important to keep in mind, especially in light of your own story. There may be times when you feel like the choices of your past create a hill too high to climb. They do not, because you are a child of the living God.

We should stop giving Satan more credit or power than he has. By comparison, he is nowhere close. Our God’s power is what propels us forward, no matter what is behind. He not only has the desire but the power to change the pain of your past into a platform for your purpose.

Live like God’s power to redeem has no competition.
